Fresh Kids was started in 2016 by Caroline and her sister who saw a need for an online baby, kids & maternity resale store. Caroline had just moved back home from Chicago and was surprised by the lack of access Canadians had to online, upscale resale. Motivated by the need to fill the gap and in pursuit of a business that supported sustainability and slow fashion, Fresh Kids was born. Families grow quickly and the expense and clothing waste is significant.

Soon after, Caroline met Elizabeth through a mutual friend in Chicago (thanks Sarah!) they quickly became friends and business partners, sharing a love for fashion, consignment, and a willingness to take on the hard work and growing pains of a small business (many late nights fueled by laughs and wine).

Fresh Kids opened its first retail location in Marda Loop with the “pink door” in 2017 and has continued to grow organically ever since. We are a team of seven passionate and diverse females continually sorting, photographing, uploading, and fulfilling behind the scenes. We are inspired by the overwhelming support of an ever-growing community of almost 2,000 loyal consignors and 10,000 customers.

Still to this day, we are excited to see what treasures are inside every single consignment drop off. We love delivering our signature pink packages of adorable items to our customers – who shop online from the comfort of their homes all over Canada and the US.

We are proud to have built this community, the majority of which are women, that together are choosing "circular fashion" over "fast fashion" and reducing textile waste.

Fresh Kids is more than a consignment store. It is a community. We love our Fresh Family and are so thankful to each and every one of you for being a part of our story. Caroline Frain
